After moving to Sydney from Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2017, software engineer Rahbee and his wife Rubaiya, a PhD student, spent several years living in an apartment before their life plans, which included starting a family, called for a larger home.
“While we loved our apartment in Sydney, we knew it was time to upgrade to a bigger home with a larger backyard, among other things, to accommodate our lifestyle and the arrival of our son, Daniel.” Rahbee
While juggling work-from-home commitments, the arrival of their son Daniel and world events, Rahbee and Rubaiya were still able to see their dream home – a Leonard with Hampton-inspired façade – come to life in a new estate in Leppington, NSW.
“At first, we were going to go with the Middleton design but then realised we could actually fit a bigger home on our block. A friend recommended the Leonard, and when we saw this design, it ticked all the right boxes for us.” Rubaiya
Once the couple had decided on a home design, the process from thereon just so happened to tie in with another big life event, the imminent arrival of their son.
“We were expecting Daniel around the time of our Studio M appointments, so didn’t have a whole lot of time to prepare. Thankfully, the consultants were great at interpreting our ideas and helping us choose the exact things that would flow nicely with our home design.” Rahbee
Once little Daniel arrived, Rahbee and Rubaiya couldn’t visit the site in person as often as they’d like, but still felt connected and up to date and look back on their experience fondly.
“We were confident that our house was in good hands, and we were not wrong. Our site supervisor was very on top of things always. He would inform us every step, and he was always reachable. Even if we had a question, he would always answer them on time. It was a great experience.” Rubaiya
When asked what they love most about their home, the couple has many favourites, from the alfresco area and abundance of natural light to spacious bedrooms, bathrooms and more.
“We love everything about our home, especially the family living area; it’s so spacious and connected to the outdoors – it brings in so much natural light and makes the whole house well ventilated. I love to cook, so the kitchen with the butler’s pantry is also a highlight for me. Even little Daniel loves it and keeps crawling in here.” Rubaiya
