After toying with numerous ideas for their first home, newly married couple Bek and Ryan, who met while working at the RSPCA, set about their first dual occupancy development thanks to some sound advice from a family member who’d built and sold numerous properties before. It was a decision that paid off for the newlyweds, with one home sold and the other a place they’re proud to call home.
“We feel incredibly lucky that we’ve been able to achieve two goals with our first dual occ development: a beautiful home of our own to live in and another that sold for our full asking price, delivering a great return on our investment.” Bek
Inspired by a visit to Metricon’s Bayville display home in Brighton, the couple decided on the Grange 24 with a Stamford façade, a design they felt ticked a number of boxes.
“We fell in love with the coastal look and feel of the Stamford façade. It’s got a classic, timeless quality we knew would be perfect for our home and the investment property next door.” Ryan
When it came to time to realising their investment goals, Bek and Ryan were pleasantly surprised with how quickly the property sold and how seamless the process was.
“The sale itself happened really quickly, all we needed was that one interested buyer and before we knew it, Ryan and I were popping a bottle of champagne to celebrate!” Bek
Likewise, their experience throughout the development and construction process was equally as smooth, as Bek elaborates.
“We were fortunate enough to have a wonderful Metricon development specialist who took us through every stage of the process, including liaising with the local council, while working with us to come up with options and explore ideas, so we could refine the floorplans and even the size of the home until we arrived at a solution that worked for us and the council, a Grange 24 with a Stamford façade.” Bek
As newcomers to dual occ developments, the couple felt reassured throughout every stage of their two-year journey with Metricon.
“As our project progressed and we were handed over to the next department, we always felt supported and were encouraged to ask any questions we had. Overall, it was a positive experience and I encourage others who are considering a dual occ development to trust the process and embrace the guidance and support you get from specialists who’ve done these types of developments many times before.” Bek
Judging by the street appeal and the many compliments they’ve received from neighbours and people passing by, it’s not just Bek and Ryan we are impressed with their first home.
“We’ve had such a positive response from our neighbours and it’s not uncommon to see people walking past admiring our home. We’ve had no shortage of people comment on how beautiful the home looks.” Bek
